Day 130 // Taking Chances

“Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing.” ~Denis Waitley

Nearly six years ago I took a chance on me. Stagnant until that point, life had just turned a new direction and I was eager to see where it would lead me. With a new found sense of courage, I stepped out of my comfort zone and engaged in a pole class.

Walking away from that first class left me with a myriad of emotions – awkward, confused and exhilarated all at the same time. But most important, I began to visualize something more from life for myself – my beautiful strength or my “bella forza”.

Fast forward.

Today, in one of the more conservative cities, we hold strong an almost five year old Aerial Program like no other. Taking that chance in 2011 to offer aerial classes certainly was risky – people talked, the studio was mocked, crickets lived in our walls for the first few months. But no more!

We now boast hundreds of ladies that have experienced empowerment first hand because of our program. Women now look at themselves with eyes of grace and beauty versus guilt and ugliness. They’ve built a strong foundation for fitness while expressing strength and femininity. Inspiration is met daily as motivation to challenge their inner warrior fuels the passion for the aerial arts.

We’ve changed lives through a chance taken – one step outside a comfort zone.
